Otter Crossing: River Puzzle. Last updated 19 October 2026.
Otter Crossing is made by Anders Harehjeld Hellmann, an independent developer in Norway, who is the data controller for the game. Contact: anders@lutralabs.no.
The game has no accounts. It never asks for your name, email address, contacts, photos or location.
What stays on your iPhone
Your progress, coins, hearts and settings are saved only on your device. They are not sent to us, and deleting the app deletes them.
Game analytics
To learn which levels are too hard or too easy, the game sends anonymous gameplay events to GameAnalytics: levels started, finished and failed, help used, coins earned and spent, and session start and end. Each event carries a random identifier made by the game, the device model, the iOS version, the game version and an approximate country. This data is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising.
Crash reports
If the game crashes, a crash report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics (Google): the error and where in the code it happened, the device model, the iOS version, the game version and a random installation identifier. Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details; Apple tells the game only what was bought, so it can be unlocked.
Why we process this data
Crash reports and analytics are used only to fix bugs and improve the game. Where the law requires your consent for analytics, the game asks before sending any, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Who receives it
Only GameAnalytics and Google (Firebase) receive data, as processors acting on our behalf. Their servers may be outside the EEA; they transfer data under the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell data.
How long it is kept
Analytics and crash data are kept only as long as needed to improve the game, within the providers' retention limits, and are deleted on request.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of data about you, object to its processing, or withdraw consent, by emailing anders@lutralabs.no. Because the data is anonymous, please include the approximate date you played so we can find it. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or the authority where you live.
Children
The game is made for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the data described above does not identify anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date.
